This is a test. I've tried posting on the rant board twice, once I may not have been signed on but twice? I'm sure I was logged on the second. Let's see if this posts.

It works. And on the note of tests, I have three tomorrow:).

Best of luck to you!

Maybe you took too long to write the post? This site has a short timeout of inactivity before you're no longer logged on.

I've noticed that.

I think my posting time expired.

that's why when I'm gonna take awhile to think about what I'm putting down I write it out in Notepad or something, then just copy it onto the site. Sucks to have something you've thought about carefully get lost.
Optionally right-click in the text box select Select All, then right-click again and select Copy, it'll be on your clipboard, then click post or reply, and if there's an error you can log back in, and just paste the text back into the field.

when writing out something fairly long, I always try to copy it to the clipboard so as not to lose it.

I am a technological airhead so I shall try to keep my rant short: I got spoken to by a 20 something college student as if I was a complete imbecile because I don't accept so called diversity or affirmative action. i am living in the liberal cesspool of America and have a chance to experience how this mindset has failed those it claims to help, but according to a nursing student I am just "generalizing". SHE has seen people do things with their lives because of affirmative action and us mean white racists wouldn't have allowed 'em to do it otherwise. OK, I think people should get things like spots in a university because of their abilities, she thinks they don't have the ability to get these things without a government program, and I'M the racist?!

I just generalized the welfare statistics, which put certain groups at the top of the heap for handouts and others at the bottom, just imagined the prison statistics which place Jews & Japanese at the lowest percentage of the American prison population, just hallucinated that sign on the subway that makes prenatal care available for some women without them even having to get off their own asses to get it. Also not saying "African American" as there is a wide variety of people in Africa and believing some groups here are more likely to adapt then others is "generalizing". She pointed out that "Boston is a very diverse city" in a tone of voice that should be reserved for a small child, as if after 8 years living here I'm too dumb to know it. I was going to attend her nursing graduation, but with her attitude towards me, fuck her. I'd rather attend Paris Hilton's next bail hearing than her nursing school graduation. Let's see if my rant goes thru.

Generalizations and steriotypes seem to be common amung some of the older generations but let me tell you, the world is changing. I don't want to go all political but that is my take on it.
